PHL triathletes get ready for SEA Games next month

MANILA, July 23 — Filipino Nikko Bryan Huelgas bested his Southeast Asian rivals in the 2017 ASTC Triathlon Asian Championships held at the Jakabaring Sports City in Palembang, Indonesia on Saturday. Huelgas, the defending SEA Games champion, clocked 2 hours and 50 seconds to finish 13th among 35 entries in the men’s elite division. Compatriots John Chicano was 18th (2:04:08) while Mark Hosana was 22nd (2:07:48). Indonesian Jauhari Johan finished 20th (2:05:35) followed by Singaporean Zhi Zhong Zacharias Low (2:06:28). Gov’t allots P278 M for Team Philippines in 2017 SEAG

MANILA, July 21 — The government, through the Philipines Sports Commission (PSC), has allotted a total of PHP278.69 million for ‘Team Philippines’ participation in the 29th edition of the Southeast Asian(SEA) Games, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting Aug. 19. PH cyclists to compete in China, Kazakhstan

MANILA, July 21 — The 7-Eleven Road Bike Philippines team arrived on Friday after competing in the 2017 Tour de Flores in Indonesia. The team finished second overall, while Marcelo Felipe placed third in the General Classification category and was named best rider from Southeast Asia.
